Using re ection techniques for exible problem solving ( with examples from diagnosis )

چکیده
Flexible problem solving consists of the dynamic selection and connguration of problem solving methods for a particular problem type, depending on the particular problem and the goal of problem solving. In this paper, we propose an architecture that supports such exible problem solving automatically. For this purpose, problem solving methods are described in a uniform way, by an abstract model of components , which together deene the functionality of the methods. Such an abstract model is used for dynamic selection and connguration of the problem solving methods. The proposed architecture for exible problem solving consists of well known reeection techniques: two object-meta relations, a deenable naming mechanism and the axiomhood and theoremhood reeection rules. We have succeeded in using standard meta-architecture techniques to enable exible problem solving.

Inference and re ection in the object - centered representation language
This paper explains the inference and re ection capabilities of NOOS, an object-centered representation language designed to integrate problem solving and learning. Problem solving and learning in NOOS are modelled by means of concepts, tasks, methods and metalevels. Metalevels allow NOOS to reason own problem solving. Using metalevels, NOOS can reason about preferences in order to make decisio...

متن کاملSolving Re-entrant No-wait Flexible Flowshop Scheduling Problem; Using the Bottleneck-based Heuristic and Genetic Algorithm
In this paper, we study the re-entrant no-wait flexible flowshop scheduling problem with makespan minimization objective and then consider two parallel machines for each stage. The main characteristic of a re-entrant environment is that at least one job is likely to visit certain stages more than once during the process. The no-wait property describes a situation in which every job has its own ...
متن کاملA New Method For Solving Linear Bilevel Multi-Objective Multi-Follower Programming Problem
Linear bilevel programming is a decision making problem with a two-level decentralized organization. The leader is in the upper level and the follower, in the lower level. This study addresses linear bilevel multi-objective multi-follower programming (LB-MOMFP) problem, a special case of linear bilevel programming problems with one leader and multiple followers where each decision maker has sev...
متن کاملMetalevel Solution to Inheritance Anomaly in Concurrent Object-oriented Languages 3 | Extended Abstract |
In the very near future, massive parallel architectures will be available to professionals of numerous elds in the manner personal computers and workstations are today. Professional computing is the term we use for describing the computational activities of professionals requiring immense computational power. We claim that object-oriented concurrent programming (OOCP) serves as the basis for pr...
